Growing up I loved the holidays. I always look forward to seeing my cousin Patrick because I knew that we had a extra player whether it be a game of kickball or wiffleball in the cul de sac. My parents would always mention other names but being I never met them I couldn’t put a face to them. Sometimes you just need get lost in life, and make those spur of the moment /last minute decisions and just go! I really enjoy what I do for work and I love my clients. I know they put their trust in me to make sure that I will make them and their business a success. I take a great deal of pride in making sure that they are taken care of first and foremost as that has always my objective, and the way I was taught by dad. I travel enough I think, but the trips always seem revolve around work. Sometimes there is downtime, and sometimes not so much because I am always working to support them even when I am away. You see in my business the phone never stops ringing as there is always a new rush project everyday, thankfully we are good at them. So the thought to actually take a week off and hand off the keys to my team is really hard because the thought in my mind is they always need me, and I am the glue that holds it all together. Anyway a week ago I just decided you know what? I needed to make time for me, and get away. So I just went online and purchase a round trip ticket to San Diego as I felt I just needed to do “ just do me” because sometime you need to be selfish and put yourself first as my friend Jill put it and she was totally right.
My whole reason about this blog is to keep things real, and share the ups along with the downs. The new girl that I had three fantastic dates and you might have read about in the previous post or two if you follow along ended up getting a little scared but its OK because I understand it. So if this ever happens to you that doesn’t mean you have to lose your shit. Why you ask? Because knowledge and the ability to understand things really is everything. One of my main reasons for sharing my stories is I am trying to help guys, and girls alike understand to recognize certain situations and when you need to take a step back and that just because someone gets a little scared doesn’t mean things are over. Knowledge and understanding really helps guide you on how to proceed but also give you piece of mind.
Ok well Tuesday night was Lady Gaga and the weather wasn’t ideal being that the forecast was 100% rain. But my date for the evening didn’t complain one bit about the weather leading up to me picking her up at her house which personality wise I liked seeing. I saw this as a test to see how much of a trooper she was going to be and days in the future.
Well ever since I took my old soulmate the onetime to the local ice cream shop nearby for the first time back in February of 2016 I continued to make it my weekly ritual to go as its part of my weekly treat to myself. Saturday became my day for going and being the creature of habit that I am I have always stuck with my favorite trusted flavor and overtime I am pretty sure everyone knows my order, even the newest employees. It’s probably in the training manual which is a scoop of Mint Chocolate Chip in a waffle cone. Sometimes I go in there early before lunch, and sometimes at closing. It truly varies.
For as long as I can remember I have never really bought into the hype of my own birthday. It is almost a blessing when it passes to be honest but am OK with that. I don’t know if it is partially due to the fact that i am a old soul, or I hate bringing attention to myself, or just not having that special person to share it with, or none of the above. It could also just be the fact I prefer to do for others, vs myself at times. Either way I find it interesting how social media and texting has changed how people share their birthdays with so many faces whether it be thru a text, on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or more.
